Full Review: This is will be the second Drysuit I have owned from Kokatat, and I can truly not be any happier with these suits. Kokatat hands down makes the best suit on the market.  Paddling 6 days a week is very hard on kayaking gear, and if any of my gear is not up for some abuse it would show very quickly. From hiking in the woods, to doing new runs, or doing easier access runs, I am bone dry inside my suit, and since it's a GORE-TEX suit it breaths amazingly well.

One thing that I had Kokatat do to my suit was make the pants full Cordura so they can take even more abuse. It was an extra $100, but I spend a lot of time walking around scouting and helping clients so it was a good choice for me. A great perk of buying a Kokatat suit is their warranty. After the end of each season when I am not needing a full suit in the hot summer months, I will send my suit back to Kokatat and they will fix my seam tape, new gaskets, or put tons of little patches in the suit where leaks are. The pressure testing and suit patching ranges from $40-60 and new gaskets are around $20 each. Not many companies in the kayaking world are this great and LOCAL.

The Good List:

  • Locally based in the US
  • very dry & very strong
  • Awesome and affordable warranty
  • GORE-TEX

The Not so Good List: Its all good.

The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a drysuit you can use for the next 5 years, this is the suit for you. If you want to paddle 4 days a week in December and January you should use the best, and Kokatat is just that. They have extremely friendly and helpful customer service and will help find the right suit for you.
