Quickstart Whitewater Kayaking: Strokes & Skills
Don't have time to jump start your paddling life in a weekend? No worries! our Quick Start Series takes that information and gives you the freedom to take the classes as you can!
Charge the river with Next Adventure and learn the fundamentals of whitewater kayaking and river safety. Our ACA and BCU certified instructors teach essential skills - eddy turns, peel outs, and ferries - so you can paddle with confidence and a smile. You will learn everything you need to take your own whitewater trips with comfort and grace.
Don't worry if you think you're getting in over your head; this class is taught on class I rapids, the bunny slopes equivalent of whitewater. You'll charge a few class II by the end of the class, so come prepared to learn and make a good amount of progress. A roll is not required, although we like to have students comfortable with the Eskimo Rescue taught in our Rolling 1 class. It's helpful to have completed Rolling 1 and Rolling 2 prior to taking Quick Start Whitewater Kayaking.
