Waterfall Skills Class
They're majestic and powerful...and they're another fun obstacle for you! That's right, waterfalls are one of the most fun parts of whitewater kayaking. They can also be intimidating and difficult, though. Being able to skillfully negotiate waterfalls opens up new and challenging adventures. You'll learn to run waterfalls with confidence, style, and success. Our professional ACA level 5 Certified instructors teach simple and straightforward techniques, emphasizing body position, solid strokes, scouting, and safety.
We have a huge success rate and students will crush boofs of their choice after the clinic. You better believe we'll have the most fun yet in this class!
The ideal students for this clinic will be comfortable on class IV runs - like the Lower Wind, East Fork of the Lewis and the Breitenbush - and ready to kayak waterfalls multiple times in one day. You do not need to have run a waterfall prior to this class but a large portion of our students have. Your rolls generally should be very dependable. Creekboats and drysuits are strongly recommended. We purposefully keep the student to instructor ratio low at 4:1, with a maximum of 6 students, so you can get the most out of this class. We like it when you have the best experience possible on the water!
