Why I prefer the back country
Skiing|
Cross country skiing at Trillium Lake Sno Park, Greg has a near-miss with a novice skier in December 2006. First check out the guy sprawled across the trail, making no effort to get out of the way. Then pay attention as someone quickly cuts across his path and wipes out. Snow parks are good for practicing skills, but the solitude of the back country calls. |

Adventure Winds Through It

So working at Next Adventure is probably one of the top ten jobs in the city. Just come in and ask any of the employees here, and you'll hear Bryan's voice on the radio telling them to get back to work long before they're done telling you why. But every once in a while a need swells from within, building with pressure like St. Helens, that tells you to go get lost. Hit the road with my friend. Seek pleasure elsewhere than this fair city. And I don't mean Mt. Hood or the coast- go get lost for real.
Weekday Snow Play
Skiing | SnowshoeingHeaven Found
SkiingMt Bachelor got dumped on this weekend (Jan 9th, 2005) and me and my high school buddies seized this opportunity to float and dance down the Cascade pitch. Sunday it puked snow all day; tracks covered run after run, in and out of the trees, hiking to reach the powder fields. Upper mountain was closed (visibility and wind), but it didn't matter.
