The Great Sock Giveaway!!!

|

The weekend of December 15th and 16th, Deek and Bryan's Next Adventure hosted another GREAT SOCK GIVEAWAY! For every pair of socks bought, another pair was donated to a local shelter. The turnout was great and we had fun. Check out pics of our crazy crew making the most of the day. Thanks for coming everyone. We hope you had a good time too. Happy Holidays!

The first video clip you see here is of last year's Sock Giveaway Weekend and if you notice, at the end, Mike and Bryan are talking about "who was going to get tossed under the bus [this] year..." Well, take a look at the other clip and see for yourself.

Keep those feet nice and cool!

Tip:

Though Gore-Tex is an amazing fabric, during the summer months it is often unnecessary and uncomfortable to have a Gore-Tex shoe. Consider something more breathable to keep your feet nice and cool.

Sweet New Shoe

Re-Waterproof your boots

|
Tip:

Get more life out of those old boots! Try using Nikwax or Granger's waterproofing products to re-waterproof them. And remember, cleaning your boots goes a long way toward keeping them waterproof.

Best snowshoe boots

|
Tip:

When snowshoeing, using an insulated waterproof boot is ideal, though a regular waterproof hiking boot works great, too! Gaiters are also a good idea.

Know Before You Go

| | | | | | | | | | |
Tip:

Know what you're getting into before you go! Check the playground conditions for the latest weather, tides, river levels, snow conditions, surf, and other information to maximize the fun.

Base Layers

| | | | | | | | |
Tip:

Wear wicking materials when out doing outdoor winter sports. That fat down parka may keep you insulated, but it is the base layer against your skin what will keep you dry so you can stay warm. Forget the cotton!
