Cinder the dog reviews her Ruffwear Polar Trex Dog Boots!

Value Rating: 10 Durability Rating: 10 Overall Rating: 10 Location of Test: Middle Sister, Mount Saint Helens, Mount Hood Duration of Test: Multiple Days/Conditions Product Name: Trex Dog Boots Product Brand: Ruffwear Best Use: Skiing, Snowshoeing Ruffwear Polar Trex Dog Booties The Full Review: The Full Review: When I was a very small puppy, my parents taught me to wear lightweight, cloth dog booties so I would be used to the bigger, burlier ones when I was grown-up. I thought that these new booties were mostly for playing games though, so I snuck away and chewed a hole in one of the snow gaiters… whoops! Luckily, it didn’t affect their performance much and I have been able to do extreme snow sports every day I’ve worn them! These booties kick some serious butt when the snow is wet and sticky–and they have a snow gaiter that keeps even tiny bits of snow out! I usually get really bad ice balls in my paws and we have to stop a lot to melt them out but, with these on, I can run as fast as I want in the snow without having to stop! It’s amazing! They have a really grippy bottom, so I have great traction when it gets a little icy… when it gets too icy, I do slide around a lot and wish I was able to use my claw-pons to run up the slope. Ruffwear Polar Trex Dog Booties The Good: They turn me into Spider-Dog! Unless the snow is really icy, I can have the fastest snow zoomies ever with my booties. Since I don’t like getting snowballs in my paws (ouch!), they keep my feet safe and pain-free so I can go about my day making sure the herd is safe. And they stay on (amazing because I’m pretty fast). The Bad: Sometimes Mom doesn’t get them fastened all the way and then we have to stop in the middle of skiing!!!! to make sure they don’t fall off. But that’s just user error on her end. They don’t do very well in really icy conditions but I don’t like skiing when it’s icy anyway so that doesn’t matter very much, does it? The Bottom Line: If you want to be Spider-Dog and enjoy keeping your paws free of snow and ice, these are the booties for you!
