The Full Report: The 2015 Rose City Open was held this past weekend at Pier Park in North Portland. With 140 competitors in attendance, it will be the biggest disc golf tournament held in Portland, Oregon this year.
The weather for the event was as good as it gets: 75 degrees and sunny both days. This made for excellent throwing conditions. Scores for this year’s event were better than they have ever been.

Personally, I had a lot of fun playing in the Rose City Open. My first round was quite the roller coaster. I carded 8 pars, 6 birdies, and 4 bogeys leading to a score of 52. I was able to improve to a score of 50 in the second round and finished the tournament with a third round score of 47. This was good enough to take 6th.
A big thanks to Dan Brown and his group of tourney staff for putting on the event. Running a tournament at one of the most popular parks in the area is no small feat. A full list of results can be found on the PDGA.
