Event Report: Gorge Waterfalls 100K

Event Name: Gorge Waterfalls 100k
Event Location: Colombia River Gorge, OR
After training all winter, it was finally the day of the race. I listed my shoes And was ready for the 6AM start.
The first 5 miles felt tough with a fast pace. As the pack started to thin out I started to feel my rhythm. At each aid station my race crew, consisted of my wife Rebecca, provided me with food, fresh shoes, and socks to keep me going.
After 20, 30, 40 miles I was feeling pretty beat. With only 13 miles left the sun was setting fast and I did not have my head lamp. It was only 13 more, but it seemed further away from the start. Finished in under 14 hours, and it was nice just to have finished. I c an't wait to do it again.
