What's at the top of your bucket list?
To spend as much time in Yosemite on a Big Wall as I am able.
Tell us about your dream trip.
I want to spend a whole season in Yosemite and do all the routes on my list. It’s a long list.
What's your favorite thing about Next Adventure?
I love the fact that there are dedicated staff in each department. The staff is able to inform and show customers how to use the gear they are selling. I always get great service with a smile. I’ve learned a bunch talking with them about gear with the staff in all the shops. As I’m not an expert in everything it’s nice to have a place to go that has the gear I need to do the kind of climbing I do, with informed staff to supplement my knowledge or lack of it.
I never get the sense that any of them are elitist or egotistical as sometimes they know way more than I do about a given subject. I have to say it makes me proud to be representing such a great establishment as Next Adventure.

Tell us a little more about yourself!
I’m a climber that came to the climbing game late in life. I started climbing at 42. But once I got the climbing bug I couldn’t get enough of it. I climb obscure off the beaten path stuff. I love the whole climbing lifestyle. The places, the people, the adventures. I’ve gotten a lot of mileage in the 13 years I’ve climbed and I’m not done yet. I’ve got a long list of things I want to do.
My biggest accomplishments to date are my first El Capitan Route was a solo aid climb of the Zodiac Route in 2013. Then in 2015, I spent 24 days on the face of El Capitan climbing the Tempest route with Pass The Pitons Pete and Jerry the Jet. I climbed a first ascent of Cottontail Tower in The Fisher Towers with Richard Jensen on a route we called “Line In The Sand”.
Locally in the Portland Oregon area my partner and I climbed St. Peter’s Dome and I climbed 100 climbs in 100 days all in a 100 mile stretch of The Columbia River Gorge in 2011. I’m someone that doesn’t give up easily. Which comes in real handy climbing the kinds of climbs I like to do.
