CORSA ICE AXE

The axe for the Hood south side in May, glacier travel and spring ski mountaineering, where you carry it for eight hours and swing it for ten minutes. The all-aluminum Corsa weighs 202 to 261 g depending on length and is still rated EN 13089 Type 1 for self-arrest and use as a snow anchor. A nylon plug keeps snow out of the shaft, the grip is machined for control in cane mode, and a slot in the head takes the Corsa leash. Built for snow, not vertical ice or step chopping.
