OSCILLANTE PULLEY

The OSCILLANTE is the 38 gram pulley you clip to the back of your harness for glacier travel and hope never to use. When a partner drops into a crevasse on Hood or Rainier, its swinging side plates open so you can drop a loaded rope onto the sheave without unclipping anything, and the wide attachment point lets most locking carabiners rotate freely for a clean haul. A recycled nylon sheave on self-lubricating bushings and aluminum side plates give 71 percent efficiency on 6 to 11 mm ropes.
