Smini Fly 250 Lumen Rechargeable Headlamp
At 38.5 grams this is the lightest headlamp Silva makes, and it fits in a closed hand. It is built to be the light you carry when you do not expect to need a light: the mandatory-gear headlamp in a race vest, the backup in a summit pack, the one that lives in the lid of your bag all season and weighs nothing.
250 lumens is more than a backup light has any right to be. It runs Silva Intelligent Light, the same combined spot and flood beam as their bigger lamps, so it throws far enough to actually run on and wide enough that you can see your feet. Red light mode for close range in the dark, a lock function so it does not drain in a pack, and a four step battery indicator so you know where you stand.
The battery sits behind the lamp rather than at the back of the head, which keeps the weight balanced and the unit tight to your forehead with only a 3 mm headband. The head tilts 90 degrees so you are not blinding anyone you pass. USB-C rechargeable, made from recycled material. A 15 mm headband and a Smini rear light are both sold separately.
