SUM'TEC HAMMER ICE AXE

One axe for the whole Cascades season: the SUM'TEC Hammer walks like a mountaineering axe and climbs like a technical tool. Its slightly curved 52 cm shaft plants cleanly in snow for piolet-canne up the Hogsback, then swings efficiently when the route steepens through the Pearly Gates or a north side couloir. The TRIGREST handrest slides into climbing position without tools, and the ALPEN ADAPT modular head accepts ICE, PUR'ICE, DRY or PUR'DRY picks, so you can tune the axe to the objective instead of buying another one.
