Gear Review: GNU Whip C3 Women's Snowboard - 2020

Value Rating: 10 Durability Rating: 10 Overall Rating: 10 Location of Test: Mt Hood Ski Bowl Duration of Test: 3 hours Product Name: Whip C3 Product Brand: GNU Best Use: In choppy snow, great snow, wet snow, any snow. Get yourself in the snow. Size: 148cm - 152cm - 156cm GNU Whip C3 Snowboard The Full Review: It was probably late November, early December and I decided to go up to good ol’ Wy’east, Mount Hood. Ski Bowl seemed like the choice for the evening and a friend and I went up in some of our new gear, looking to get a few warm-up laps in for the season. Without any real info on the conditions on the mountain or the boards’ specs, the Gnu Whip was recommended to me by our stellar rental shop and besides the trust I have in the rental shop, the colors on this board POP and I had to ride it. I can’t decide if it is more bubblegum or cotton candy, but either way, it made me want snacks on the way up. GNU Whip C3 Snowboard When we got up there, it was raining as it might in early December at our beloved Ski Bowl. Thankfully I had on my trusty Montane LTD Fleet GTX Jacket so I stayed dry but I was a little worried about slush. It was just cold enough that the snow was staying put and wasn’t too wet, even then it’s not great conditions. And you know what? This board PERFORMED. Such a fun ride, it had tons of pop, playful, and hit any terrain with ease and stability. I felt the edges really hold their own in such sloppy snow, giving me the confidence in the board and to really play around. I felt like a bubblegum princess on a board that supports any adventure. GNU Whip C3 Snowboard The Good: Loved the flex of the board - super maneuverable and easy to control. So so playful, making light springy turns, you can really feel the pop in the board from the camber/rocker/camber build. If I haven't said it enough, THE COLORS. Pink is back everybody, this board is ready to party. The Bad: For someone bigger, it might have had too much flex but that really is just preference. I think anyone could go out on this board and have a stellar time. The Bottom Line: For someone looking for a flexible, easy to control, playful board in all conditions, this would be a great choice.
