They are used for storage and transport of a variety of different things, most suitably delicate and expensive technology/equipment. These Peli cases are built to last a long time and boast of being waterproof, dustproof and crushproof. After my experience of using my 1200 Protector Case over the past few months, I can confidently say that this is a true statement. I picked up my first 1200 Protector Case from Pelican immediately after buying my Canon DSLR camera several months ago to have a safe way to store and transport such an expensive investment. I trusted this case, well before buying one, after seeing a friend use the same model for the same reason and after using a smaller model myself (1120) as a first aid kit. Pelican 1200 Protector Case As a whitewater kayaker, I was keen about getting some action shots of friends on the water and I knew that that only way of keeping my camera safe in the boat and on the riverbank was in one of these cases. After months of constant use, this case has no problem being in a wet environment for long periods of time while keeping the contents dry. I find that strapping the case with a quick release mechanism between your legs while in the boat is the best way to store it making it easily accessible. Depending on the size of the boat it may also be possible to transport the case in the stern directly behind the seat. For durability testing, this case has already traveled half of the world with me in boats, vans, planes, and trains without so much as a scuff put on the case. As a testament to its durability, one day while stowing the case in an overhead compartment of my van the case slipped out of my hand and tumbled out the passenger side window, crashing 7ft to the ground below! My heart was in my mouth and I shed a tear for the death of my camera. However, moments later I realized that it was perfectly fine – the Pelican 1200 Protector Case had done its job flawlessly! Pelican 1200 Protector Case The Good They will keep anything dry. Anything! Specially designed Pick-N-Pluck foam comes with each case allowing any item to have a custom fit. Automatic pressure equalising valve for different environments. Lightweight material construction. Easy to open and close double throw latches. So many colors!!!!! Plenty of room for stickers :) The Bad: With so many positives it's bound to be a bit pricey :( Can be a bit bulky. The Bottom Line: I won't transport my camera in anything else. If you have anything valuable to you that you want to be kept safe, get one now!
