A documentary film about the passion it takes to save sacred places from development.
Flowing through one of North America's deepest canyons, filled with dangerous whitewater, the Clark's Fork of the Yellowstone's sheer granite walls are the perfect place for a massive dam. Follow the story of this amazing river from the flight of the Nez Perce to the adventure of modern day explorers. As kayaking led to conservation the Clark's Fork was saved from damnation as Wyoming's first wild & scenic river.
American Whitewater's entire stewardship team is gathering in Portland for the first time in 10 years for a staff retreat. We will start the evening with an introduction by Pacific Northwest Stewardship Director Tom O'Keefe giving us an update of current river conservation and access issues in our region.
Please join the American Whitewater staff and Board for a special showing of Our Local Epic: a documentary film about the passion it takes to save sacred places from development. Film producer and AW board director, Aaron Pruzan, will be present for a post-film Q+A.
