Trip Report: Iron Creek Campground in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest

When: 6/15/2019 Location: Iron Creek Campground Conditions: Wonderful sunny weekend. Warm weather but cool in the shade of the trees Duration: 2 days 1 night Kid Friendly: YES! Dog Friendly: YES! Iron Creek Campground Full Report: I recently had the pleasure of camping at Iron Creek Campground in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. This was a great place to stay to beat the heat because of how wonderfully shaded it is and how close to the water it is. First of all, we were quite excited to find plenty of spaces open when we rolled up on a Saturday afternoon/evening. We had a great selection of spots to choose from that were quite close to the water. The river flowing behind the campground is the Cispus River. This is a popular destination for whitewater paddlers as well as folks interested in visiting the Cispus Learning Center which is about 8-miles upstream of the campground. Iron Creek Campground The Iron Creek campground had lots to offer. There was a really cool trail loop that circled the whole area and brought you to see Iron Creek itself. All the amenities were super clean and well looked after. And the sites were super cool and allowed you to really get the feeling that you were deep in the woods....which you are. That reminds me, cell service was pretty dodgy out there. So, this may not be the place if you are "on-call". But if you are looking is disappear into the woods and really connect with nature, go for it! Address: Forest Road 25, Randle, WA 98377 Iron Creek Campground Iron Creek Campground
