Intro to Big Wall Free Climbing with Jesse Rubenstein
The Big Wall Climbing event was a hit, as attendees were taken on a journey through some of the most memorable climbs and experiences. Starting with personal stories, Jesse dove into the emotional ups and downs that come with big wall rock climbing—capturing the excitement, challenges, and mental grit it takes to scale massive walls.After sharing these stories, Jesse detailed the extensive gear and systems required for this kind of adventure, giving attendees a comprehensive understanding of the technical side of big wall climbing. The event wrapped up with a lively Q&A session, where participants engaged with thoughtful questions about the sport, gear recommendations, and personal experiences.

The First Mt. Everest in Ascent in 1953 with Ang Pemba Sherpa
An exciting event where we dove into the history of The First Mt. Everest Ascent in 1953 with professional photographer and film maker Ang Pemba Sherpa. Ang's Grandfather was part of the team who first climbed Mt. Everest in 1953. Recently, Outside Magazine featured Ang as he retrace his grand father's historic journey though Nepal. We heard firsthand accounts of the challenges faced and triumphs achieved during this expedition. This was an opportunity to interact with this unique mountaineering history along with the tools that made it all happen.

Bringing the Owyhee Canyonlands to Portland:
Far in the southeastern corner of the state lies a hidden treasure of colorful canyons, sweeping seas of sagebrush steppe, rambling rivers and snaking streams where recreation opportunities abound. An evening of stories from people who have hiked the trails, rafted the river and enjoyed the dark skies of the Owyhee Canyonlands, while engaging with people working to protect it.
