Full Review:
I've had many different PFD's throughout my whitewater career and time and time again I find myself continuing to purchase Astral Greenjackets because of their quality, functionality, and comfort. The shoulder straps are minimal and fitting, the low waist flotation makes it highly maneuverable, and the safety harness is easily accessible. The newer models have the "clam-shell" pocket on the front as the main storage area and it's really awesome! You can fit a lot of stuff in there (candy bars, carabiners, rope, webbing, etc.) I've had to perform rescues and recoveries in this vest and it has never failed me. Definitely one of the best rescues PFDs on the market today.

Greenjacket Astral PFD"The Good" List: The Greenjacket has been around for a long time and has been tested and proven in the most demanding conditions. It is one of the best rescue vests ever designed.

"The Not so Good List": The newer models have added the "clam-shell" pocket up front which is great for storage but can sometimes get in the way when wearing a full face helmet.

The Bottom Line: The Astral Greenjacket is just one of those legendary products that has been around for ages and shows no signs of going anywhere anytime soon. If you're a whitewater goer looking to push the limits of the sport than this rescue vest should definitely be in your arsenal.
