Gear Review: Crosspoint Waterproof Socks from Showers Pass - Next Adventure

Gear Review: Crosspoint Waterproof Socks from Showers Pass

Value Rating: 10 Durability Rating: 10 Overall Rating: 10 Location of Test: Everywhere Product Name: Waterproof Crosspoint Socks Product Brand: Showers Pass Best Use: Running and paddling. Colors: Camo & Hi-Viz Waterproof Crosspoint Socks The Full Review: I bought these socks 8 days ago, and have used them every day since. It is not difficult to find uses for them, especially in winter or really any time in the PNW. The first full day I had these socks I wore them for 3 different activities. I started at the dog park puddle jumping with my puppy, then paddle boarding on the Willamette, and to end the day went for a trail run at Tryon Creek. I was very pleasantly surprised with these socks and have been wearing them running every day it's raining. When I went paddle boarding I stepped in the water before getting on the board and just stood there for about 30 seconds. Initially, it felt like my feet were wet, but it was just the cold that I was feeling. It was a really odd sensation, and the only thing I can compare it to is being in the water with a drysuit on. I didn't really get that same sensation when running because my feet weren't fully submerged, or at least not for long. Waterproof Crosspoint Socks The Good: They look and feel like regular socks! They are easy to put on and even stretch some. It has been difficult to find a waterproof sock for running because extra fabric or seams can not only cause discomfort but also blisters. After 8 days, no blisters or discomfort. They also dry very quickly and don't even smell yet! The Bad: These socks run a little small. It may be that they don't stretch quite as much as a regular sock, but I did get a size larger than I would have expected. The Bottom Line: They keep your feet dry, warm, and comfortable. I need to buy another pair.
