Full Review: The Alchemy is a great boat for someone who is just starting kayaking, or even for someone who wants to push their limits. I paddled the Alchemy in 7 ft surf and could not have been more stoked. The Alchemy punched through big sets of waves and rock gardened beautifully. The boat was very responsive when switching edges on waves and charging behind rocks. The boat has a lot of initial stability and tracks great; I think it would make a great boat for someone looking to step up there coastal boating since it is fast, maneuverable, and outright fun.

Blasting through large waves at the Oregon Coast in the Alchemy.

"The Good" List: This is a great boat to learn and teach from. There is also a large amount of storage space for gear making it great for touring.

"The Not so Good List": The hatch covers are not the best.

The Bottom Line: If I played the roll of Poseidon more I would own this bad boy. A very fun boat to paddle and it turns the ocean into your playground.
