Full Review

The name Darn Tough is in no way an exaggeration. My hiking socks lasted from Port Clinton, PA to Baxter, ME and after the trail, I used them for a year on my feet at work and hiking before they finally tore. They are extremely comfortable, and the amount of use I got out of them was ten times longer than any other wool hiking sock I wore on the trail. After I finally tore my socks, I warrantied them and got a new pair sent to me from their mill in Vermont for free. I continue to wear Darn Tough socks every day of the week.

A true classic and a longtime favorite with serious hikers and everyday enthusiasts alike. Full Cushioning throughout this entire sock provides support and comfort without unwanted weight and bulk. Coveted for its dependability and comfort this sock has a smooth performance fit that you won’t find in the other guy’s full cushioned socks. No slipping, no bunching, no blisters. Fine gauge Merino Wool makes this a fast drying and breathable “all-weather” sock that stays cool in the summer and warm in the winter. And since Merino Wool is naturally antimicrobial this sock repels bacteria and odor—a great feature when you need to get any extra day (or two) out of your socks. Still made in Vermont. Guaranteed for life.

Review Summary Points

"The Good" List: Amazing longevity, durability

"The Not so Good List": They can be abrasive if not washed for extended backpacking trips.

The Bottom Line: These are the best hiking socks on the market. In a pursuit where happy feet are paramount, these socks reign supreme.
