The Full Review:
Just yesterday morning I broke down and bought a tent. For the last year and a half, I have been a hard-headed advocate of hammock camping. I simply love it. There's something extremely relaxing about sleeping outside with the air whipping across your face and the stars and wind above. You wake up around 4 a.m. to readjust and glance up and accidentally catch a glimpse of the Milky Way. It's truly priceless. What can I say? This thing is amazing. Bring it with you everywhere. When I get home from work I bring this to the park and string it up and read a book. It takes no time at all to set up.
On that note, the ENO hammock excels in ease of use. The carry pouch is connected to the hammock in the center when unfolded, this turns it into a conveniently placed pocket while you're lying in the hammock for your phone, a beer, your book, whatever. When it comes time to break it down you don't even have to lay it on the ground. Simply disconnect one half using the sturdy carabiners and fold it in half twice and start stuffing the hammock into the pocket. Do this until you reach the carabiner at the other end and presto! Your hammock never touches the ground.
Now when it comes to hammock camping you'll need a little bit more than just a hammock. Have no fear, ENO makes it easy to attach the necessary components to turn your hammock into a full-on camping haven. The obvious concern is getting wet from rain or dew. ENO offers a tent fly that works wonderfully over the hammock, completely blocking you from wind and rain. It sets up in a second. The second concern is warmth. ENO also offers a variety of under quilts, which are basically a hammock sleeping bag that hangs slightly suspended beneath the hammock offering a pocket of warmth that wraps around you. Lastly, bugs!!! If you've ever camped in the Boundary Waters of Minnesota, then you know what camping with mosquitos is like. ENO can remedy that with the easily attached bug net. This net surrounds the entire hammock and cinches up tight on both ends. No bugs will get in!
Hurry up and get yours. Even if you're camping in a tent, bring a hammock with you. It's the perfect way to relax after a long paddle, hike, or just chilling around the campfire.
