Gear Review: MSR Windburner Stove System - Next Adventure

Gear Review: MSR Windburner Stove System

Value Rating: 10 Durability Rating: TBD Overall Rating: 10 Location of Test: Multiple trips Product Name: Windburner Stove System Product Brand: MSR Best Use: Making delicious beverages and food. Sizes Available/ Specs: 1 L or 1.8 L
The Full Review The Windburner was recommended to me by a co-worker/friend (big up Larry!) and I have not been disappointed. I have used this stove on my overnight trip to Moraine Lake/South Sister and camping trip to Diamond Lake. The heat output on this stove is no joke. I boiled a full pot, 1L, at 6,520 elevation in a 10 mph breeze in 50ish degree temps in the stated time of 4.5 minutes. Only another 8 minutes until dinner was served! I have used the stove several times to make meals and coffee and it is quick and easy to use. The system comes with everything you need for one person sans an eating utensil. The 1L is great for an individual but I would bump up to the 1.8L to make it easier to share with others. Sharing is caring. There are accessories you can purchase such as a coffee press, extra pot, or skillet to make the system more versatile as well. The Good: Everything you need in a convenient and compact system. Fast boil times. Easy to use. The Bad: None. The Bottom Line: I would recommend this stove system to anyone.
