Next Adventure has been a huge supporter of
The Venture Out Project and other local Portland organizations serving under-represented people in the outdoor world such as
Wild Diversity &
Unlikely Hikers. Along with sponsoring various events, they also have provided incredible in-kind donations such as backpacks!
Last Fall, Next Adventure donated 10 Wilderness Technology, Hogsback 65 packs to TVOP & Wild Diversity. Mercy and I were able to use them on TVOP’s first ever QTBIPoC Centered backpacking trip in September 2018. The trip was a great success, and having gear to provide, is of course, central to a beginner friendly backpacking trip.
All around, this is a great backpack. It fit a wide variety of bodies with adjustable torso lengths. Adequate padding also makes carrying the load easy to manage.
I recently went backpacking and had another chance to try this pack. Starting at Tillamook Head, we hiked down the Oregon Coastal Trail. We found giant trees, amazing coastal views, and steep switchbacks that would have been much more difficult in an ill-fitting pack.
The Hogsback was easy to use, felt great loaded up, and features of the pack brought it home. The bag is adjustable in every direction – and my favorite part – is the front entry that allows access to the MIDDLE OF THE BAG WITHOUT UNPACKING IT.
Wilderness Technology is a Next Adventure brand created to provide affordable gear options.
Thanks again Next Adventure for your continued support of our programming. Want to check out and try on this affordable pack in person? Come to our annual
