Full Review: So, when these little things came into the shop I was super skeptical because most of Pelican's products are guaranteed to be water-proof, but the smaller 1020 case was advertised as only water resistant. I was on the market for something to contain my keys/cell phone while out on the water. The size was perfect, but I didn't dare buy one right away because it wasn't called water-proof. (To be honest, I still won't call it that either, but...)

What I did to test whether or not the product would be sufficient for my purposes was put a paper towel inside a 1020 case and submerge it in a tank of water over night. When I came in the next morning the paper towel on the interior of the case was bone dry. That is what won me over, because while they aren't advertised as water proof, they sure don't let water in, and unless unlikely circumstances unfold, these little boxes float (meaning literal submersion is rare) and have a purge valve as well, so they are well built. In essence, so far this product has basically over performed and I feel confident putting both my chip key and cell phone in it, and it clips to my PFD perfectly.

The Good List: So far durable, reliable, and comes with a carabiner to clip onto your PFD. The inside silicon tray pulls out conveniently and re-inserts.

The Not So Good List: This product is tricky to discuss the down side, but I could see the plastic clips that close the case eventually cracking from dropping the case a few times. I haven't personally experienced this, just a potential flaw.

The Bottom Line: These little cases are sweet, you should get one.
