The Full Report:
I did this trail as a trail run on a cool cloudy day in January. Despite having grown up in nearby Grants Pass I had never made it to either Table Rock. There are two, both with trails going to the top of them.
I chose Lower Table Rock for a longer duration outing. There is ample space to wander once you reach the plateaued top with the main trail running north/south and several side trails branching off for views off each side.
The trail is well maintained and there are a few interpretive signs near the trailhead and at the top with interesting factoids. The trail is a meandering all uphill affair until you reach the top.
With trails branching off in each direction once on top you can get a view in any direction and the views are worth the hustle. The entire Rogue Valley, McLoughlin, and the Pacific Coast Range.
I would recommend this hike if visiting the area or passing through with access being easy from Interstate 5.
Would do again! Enjoy!
