Video: Custom Cut Black Diamond Glidelite Mix Climbing Skins

Climbing skins are an essential part of your backcountry touring kit. Using the Black Diamond Glidelite Mix Climbing Skins, our Next Adventure technicians can offer custom cut skins at considerable savings.
We're here today in the Next Adventure Tune Shop to talk about an exciting new product that we're offering, starting with the 2018 season. Black Diamond GlideLite Climbing Skins by the foot. Climbing skins are an essential part of anyone's backcountry touring kit. The GlideLite Mix Climbing Skin from Black Diamond is a lightweight climbing skin that is produced using a nylon and mohair mix. It's built for optimum glide and maximum grip across a wide range of snow conditions. They will work on both backcountry skis as well as splitboards and buying it by the foot can save you upwards of $50 per pair. Here's how the process works. The climbing skins cost 50 cents per centimeter per pair. Take the length of your ski in centimeters, cut the number in half, and that will be the price of the skins. For example, a 176cm long ski would cost $88 for a pair of skins. Next, add in whatever tip or tail connectors you want. We have two options for the tip loop, the adjustable tip loop or the ultralight tip clip. You can save both weight and money by going tailless. If you currently own Black Diamond skins that are getting old and it's time to replace them, save the hardware and bring that in to us and you can save money by buying just the material and not any of the hardware. If you have any questions related to backcountry gear, be it skins, avalanche beacons, shovels, probes, backcountry skis, splitboards, bindings, boots, any of it, swing on by Next Adventure.
