Video: How To inflate a sleeping pad with the Exped Schnozzle Pumpbag
Aside from the Big Bad Wolf, nobody wants to huff and puff after a long day on the trail. Hannah from Next Adventure demonstrates how to use the Exped Schnozzel Pumpbag to quickly inflate your sleeping pad without traumatizing any little pigs.
Today we're going to be talking about how to use the Exped Schnozzle Pumpbag to inflate a sleeping pad. This is by far the easiest way to quickly inflate your sleeping pad.
A product like this works quickly and prevents moisture buildup inside of your pad. Why is this important? Any moisture that enters the pad through your breath builds up over time and creates an environment that can deteriorate your pad from the inside. By using a pumpbag you can help extend the usable life of your pad.
This Exped sleeping pad utilizes a two-way valve system. There is a separate valve for inflation and another for deflation. Begin by closing the deflate valve and opening the inflate valve. This particular inflate valve is a one-way valve system. As we put air in, it won’t be able to escape.
This Exped Schnozzle Pumpbag is a 42-liter waterproof stuff sack that preforms double duty as a great pack liner. To inflate your sleeping pad, open the nozzle cap on the bottom of the bag. Simply attach it to the inflation valve on your pad. Make sure nothing is twisted, then simply roll the top down. Once can you see that air is caught within the bag, squeeze the air into the pad as you roll down the bag maintaining pressure. And that's it.
Because of the one-way valve system, once your pad is fully inflated you can simply pop the Schnozzle bag right off. No air is seeping back out. Close that valve, flip the pad over and you're good to go.
It's a great multi-use product that makes your life in the backcountry a lot easier. It also makes you a lot happier because you can go to sleep faster.
